Description

The Atlantic Coastal Action Program - Cape Breton (ACAP Cape Breton) is seeking volunteer board members from across Unama'ki-Cape Breton for a 2 year board term.

ACAP Cape Breton is an environmental non-profit registered in Nova Scotia, with federal charitable status. We operate as a governance and strategy board, with operations oversight of the organization delegated to the Executive Director.

Requirements:

  • Resident of Cape Breton.

  • Willing and able to serve a two-year term from September 2024 to September 2026.

  • Willing and able to commit to regular meeting attendance (~6 meetings per year, every other month, primarily via Zoom but some in-person/hybrid).

  • Willing and able to commit to sitting on at least one sub-committee of the board (meetings in alternating months to board meetings) is an asset. Sub-committees are currently: Executive, Development/Fundraising, Governance, Finance. 

  • Must be committed to the goals and values of ACAP Cape Breton.

Board Composition

The Board of Directors at ACAP is composed of 12 directors, all of which must be members of the organization. There are four Executive positions, which are elected by the Board of Directors: President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary

All Board positions are volunteer.
