Place
of Work
Your office will be located on the Cape
Breton University Campus in the LCI suite offices. This position may require national
and international travel, estimated at two weeks per trip on a bi-annual basis.
Contingent on the nature of your projects at hand, remote work is permitted,
however the expectation is that this position will be office based.

Compensated based on experience.

Overview
The Education Technology Specialist
works directly with the Education Technology Team at LearnCorp International
(LCI). Working directly with another education technology specialist, this
position assists in the development and maintenance of new course shells for
all LCI programs on the Learning Management System Platform, Moodle. Should other
education technology softwares be implemented, this position will assist in the
process of implementation. Additionally, this position focuses on digital
graphic development for all LearnCorp programs and corresponding curriculum.
The role of this position is key in enhancing the student learning experience and the instructors delivery method for all LCI programs. The successful candidate will have experience with graphic design and learning management systems such as Moodle. The Education Technology Specialist will serve as a vital resource to the LearnCorp International Team in the rapid growth phase that the company is currently experiencing.

Responsibilities
Technical
Support
·
Provide assistance and
expertise in troubleshooting systems, addressing requests, and resolving problems
pertaining to all education technology software at the organization.
·
Assist with Project
Coordination of all education technology initiatives with the education
technology team.
·
User Training as
required for LearnCorp International team and students studying with LCI.
·
Demonstrates
professional communication skills both in-person and through online
interactions when dealing with LearnCorp International team stakeholders.
·
Provide primary technical support
(in-person and remotely) for virtual classrooms and educational technology
(includes setup, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs).
Learning Management System Support
· Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the
learning management system and corresponding plug-ins.
·
Troubleshoot student and instructor
inquiries should they be experiencing challenges with the learning management
system.
· Knowledge seek and implement plug-ins
within the learning management system should it enhance the student’s learning
experience and instructor’s delivery experience.
· Develop course shells within the
learning management system with the education technology team.
· Implement assignments, quizzes and
projects as guided by the instructors and education technology team.
·
Develop all graphics for the learning
management system and lead the design process of the platform.
Applications Management
·
Follow CBU change management
procedures in maintaining and upgrading Enterprise Applications including
pre-test, implementation, and post-verification while implementing enterprise
applications at LearnCorp International.
· Use a version control system in a
team environment to maintain a repository and history of all application
changes.
· Program and/or configure solutions
using languages and tools supported by the University in collaboration with
LearnCorp International.
·
Conduct process testing and
integration testing in conjunction with users.
·
Serve as system subject matter
experts in ad-hoc committees and working groups.
Website
· Design and Build LearnCorp International
Website while collaborating with key stakeholders in the design process.
· Maintain backend of the website once build
is complete and continuously monitor and update the website
· Track Analytics on the website.
Enterprise Systems International Role Out
· Assist in the enterprise systems role out internationally and domestically
· Implement Moodle LMS Software to all LearnCorp International Program Offerings
· Provide Training to Instructors delivering LearnCorp International Programming on Moodle Software
· Understand the technology usage parameters in multiple countries that LCI programs are operating in and will be operating in the future.
Qualifications and Skills
· Diploma/degree in business/commerce
with a focus in marketing or graphic design. Alternatively, a degree/diploma in
education/instructural design, or a related field combined with graphic design
and education technology experience.

Minimum of one year of relevant and
related work experience.
· Recent, relevant and demonstratable
technical proficiency in learning management systems such as moodle, blackboard,
D2L or an equivalent system.
·
Recent and demonstratable experience
using graphic design software such as Adobe indesign, Canva or other equivalent
graphic design software.
· Understanding of how to follow brand
guidelines and the importance of visual representation when growing a brand and
building that brand within the learning management system and official website.
· Ability to keep abreast on trends and
changes within the field of education technology and graphic design.
·
Ability to work in a fast-paced,
team-oriented environment.
·
Ability to participate in creative and
exploratory design thinking sessions of growing a company.
·
Knowledge and experience in software
implementation and support.
· Knowledge and experience with
Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft SQL Reporting Services, Microsoft SharePoint, and
Microsoft Teams are a definite asset.
·
Ability to restructure, redesign and
maintain a website
·
Ability to grow, design and maintain
a learning management system (Moodle).
·
Demonstratable knowledge of security
and cybersecurity best practices.
·
Good interpersonal and communication
skills (oral and written).
·
A team player who knows how to work
independently and prioritize tasks
·
A creative eye and passion for
building a brand through education technology.
· Interested in making a global impact.
