City Print+ is looking for an Apparel Production Team Member to join their team!

City Print + is Cape Breton’s hub for Print Work & Promotional Products. We’re proud to be a 100% Cape Breton-owned and operated business.  Since 1973, City Print + has been a leader in the print industry in Atlantic Canada. In 2017, we expanded with the launch of our promotional products and apparel division. Now offering a huge range of printing, signage, promotional products and branded apparel, our goal is to be a one-stop shop for our customers.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Apparel Production Team Member is an integral part of the embroidery team at City Print+. This individual will be responsible for, but not limited to, leading the embroidery operations, managing the embroidery inventory levels, inspecting finished products for accuracy and quality control, maintaining and troubleshooting of embroidery equipment, and providing support to the production team. 


As the Apparel Production Team Member, your key responsibilities include:

Primary Focus - Embroidery Operations:

  • Lead All Embroidery Production - Including the setup, hooping, running embroidery machines, and ensuring top-quality results.
  • Digitization - Manage the digitization process for embroidery files, including prepping and testing designs for production.

 Secondary Focus – Supporting Functions:

  • Heat Transfer Support – Assist with vinyl heat transfer projects, including preparing artwork, cutting, and pressing.
  • Inventory Management:

    • Order and track thread, backing, and other embroidery-related supplies.
    • Maintain organized stock levels and report supply needs proactively.
    • Provide inventory management support for promotional products when required.
  • Silkscreen Production Assistance – Support silk-screening tasks, including setup, printing, and cleanup as assigned.
  • Quality Control – Inspect all finished products for accuracy, consistency, and high standards before delivery.
  • Apparel Handling – Receive, count, and organize client-supplied apparel and products for embroidery and print projects.
  • Equipment Care – Maintain and troubleshoot embroidery and heat transfer equipment, scheduling repairs and upkeep as required.
  • General Shop Support – Assist with promotional product proofs, proposals, and other production tasks as required.
  • Other Duties as Assigned – Provide additional production or support function as required to help the team meet deadlines.

 What you need to succeed:

  • Previous experience in an embroidery or similar production role is considered a strong asset.
  • Previous experience using heat transfer and/or silk-screening processes is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance and equipment care for embroidery and printing machines is considered an asset.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail skills, with a commitment to producing high-quality work is required.
  • Strong time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and shift between embroidery and support functions as needed.
  • Have a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different production tasks and systems.
  • Have a positive attitude and the ability to contribute to a collaborative team environment, while also being able to work independently.

The perks of joining our team:

  •  Hourly wage of $18.75/hour
  • Full-time, permanent position with 40 hours/week
  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 4:00PM (some flexibility provided)
