Marine Atlantic is currently accepting applications for Ticket and Reservation Clerks to work at our Terminal in North Sydney, NS. These positions are spare and relief and candidates can expect to work on an on-call basis. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and therefore shifts could be days, evenings, backshifts with coverage also being required on weekends and holidays.

As a Ticket and Reservation Clerk with Marine Atlantic, you will be responsible for:

Providing a high level of customer service

Making reservations

Processing passenger tickets

Contributing to an inclusive, respectful and safe workplace while upholding our corporate values

Participating in training for other roles within the organization as needed

Assisting in the accomplishment of Company objectives by performing other related duties as required

Work diligently to promote a safe working environment


What qualifications do I need to be considered for this opportunity?

Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED or;

An equivalent combination of education, job-related training and experience will be considered

Ability to deal with the general public in a professional manner displaying excellent customer service skills

Computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office


Asset  Qualifications:

Office Administrative Assistant Diploma from a recognized institution.

Minimum Business/Accounting Diploma from a recognized institution.

Competent typing skills (25 wpm) and keyboarding skills

Experience working in an office or call center environment.

Supervisory or team lead experience.

Experience working with a computerized ticket/reservation system, supply chain/accounting system, and customer payment system.

Knowledge of general accounting practices.

Sound knowledge of employee scheduling procedures and computerized employee scheduling system.

Experience working with union agreements.
