Description

Victoria County Transit is seeking a motivated summer student to assist with community outreach, marketing, and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will help improve transit services by creating, distributing, and evaluating a customer feedback survey, supporting marketing efforts, and providing administrative assistance. This position offers hands-on experience in communications, data analysis, and program support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Outreach:
    • Design and develop a customer feedback survey to assess transit services.
    • Distribute surveys through various channels (online, in-person, and community partners).
    • Collect and organize survey responses for analysis.
    • Evaluate survey results and prepare a summary report with recommendations.
  • Marketing & Communications:
    • Request social media updates from the communications team.
    • Create marketing materials to promote transit services and programs.
    • Write engaging copy for the Victoria County Transit website.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist the Transit Administrator with daily tasks and scheduling.
    • Provide support for meetings and training sessions as needed.
    • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling data and communications.

Qualifications:

  • Must qualify for the Canada Summer Jobs program.
  • Currently enrolled as a student in a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and basic data analysis.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and marketing principles is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Interest in community development, public transit, or communications is an asset.


Work Location:

  • Remote work with occasional in-person meetings at a mutually agreed on location.
  • Reliable transportation is required to attend team meetings and in-person sessions.
