Description

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for creating a positive public image, building strong relationships, and ensuring effective communication both internally and externally for the Sport and Social Club of Cape Breton’s programs and activities. A good fit for this role will understand social media marketing, will be comfortable creating a marketing plan, and will be skilled at matching design and copywriting to SSCC’s brand. Responsibilities include:


  • Reviewing SSCC’s current marketing and promotional content

  • Developing a marketing strategy to increase engagement from underserved groups. 

  • Creating content for various communication channels, including newsletters, social media, websites, and promotional materials.

  • Creating promotional campaigns for new and existing SSCC programs.

  • Seeking opportunities for media coverage in print, radio and television.

  • Moderating social media feeds (primarily Facebook and Instagram).

  • Maintaining or developing relationships with local stakeholders, sponsors, and partners to boost marketing reach.

  • Conducting experiential marketing

  • Representing SSCC at community events, including resource fairs and markets, if opportunities arise.

  • Developing reports for the SSCC board to monitor the effectiveness of communication strategies.

  • Making recommendations regarding the direction of future marketing efforts.

  • Collaborating with supervisors, volunteers, and other staff to understand SSCC’s programs and goals to ensure accurate representation in communications.

  • Staying informed about emerging trends and best practices for marketing and communications.

  • Some evening or weekend work may be required.
