Purpose of the position

Join our team at Highland Fisheries as a vital player in our Global Supply Chain division. We're seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor. If you're ready to take charge, ensure smooth production processes, and drive success in a dynamic environment, this role is for you. With the support of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will supervise and direct our production processes.

Reporting Structure:

This individual will report to the production manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
  • Review and verify daily production reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Develop and manage workforce schedules to meet production requirements while optimizing labor resources.
  • Work closely with the lead supervisor to improve workflows, productivity, and overall plant performance.
  • Monitor production costs and support production planning to ensure budget targets are achieved.
  • Track and record packaging material usage to maintain accurate inventory control.
  • Promote and enforce workplace health and safety policies, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to maintain and exceed product quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Participate actively in weekly production meetings, contributing operational insights and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce downtime, improve equipment utilization, and minimize changeover times.
  • Ensure accurate daily payroll administration using the ADP payroll system.
  • Prepare, print, and apply product labels as required to meet customer specifications and production requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with special projects as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Location: Manufacturing/Production Facility
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel as required
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Work Environment: Cold, wet, and noisy production environment
  • Schedule: Flexible schedule based on operational and production requirements

Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing, food processing, or production environment is considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and utilize company systems effectively.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment while maintaining high standards of performance and professionalism.
