Title: Assistant General Manager
Position: Full Time, Permanent
Hours of Work: 40 – 50 hours per week. Scheduling will be
dictated by operational requirements and scheduling needs. Flexibility is key –
working evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
Job Location: In-person, on-site in Sydney, Nova Scotia
Proposed Start Date: As soon as possible
Compensation Package: Earn $27/hour, with typical annual earnings of $56,160-$70,200 based on a 40–50 hour work week. Plus, earn an additional $15,000 annually through quarterly performance incentives, along with bi-weekly management tip sharing.

find a hands-on, people-focused Assistant General Manager ready
to make an impact.
Working alongside the General
Manager, you’ll help lead the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, support
and develop the team, and keep both the guest experience and business
performance moving in the right direction. This is a great opportunity for an
experienced restaurant leader who isn’t afraid to jump in, lead by example, and
have some fun along the way.

What you'll do:
- Help lead day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring efficient service and consistent execution of Boston Pizza standards.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, safety, and hospitality.
- Lead by example as Manager on Duty, providing hands-on leadership and support throughout each shift.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of front- and back-of-house team members.
- Help build a positive, high-performing team culture that promotes engagement, accountability, and retention.
- Support employee scheduling and staffing needs while effectively managing labour costs.
- Champion exceptional guest service and help create memorable dining experiences.
- Monitor key restaurant performance measures, including labour, food, beverage, and inventory costs.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, inventory, ordering, and performance reporting to identify opportunities for improvement and business growth.
- Ensure restaurant operations meet food safety, health and safety, liquor licensing, and Boston Pizza standards.
- Promote accountability and consistent execution across the restaurant.
- Perform additional responsibilities and duties as required to support restaurant operations and business objectives.
- 2+ years of restaurant management experience, with a strong understanding of day-to-day restaurant operations.
- A guest-first mindset and passion for hospitality, with a commitment to creating exceptional experiences.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, develop and motivate teams in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong problem solving, communication, and decision-making skills, with the confidence to navigate operational challenges and resolve conflict effectively.
- A solid understanding of restaurant performance and financial fundamentals, including labour and food costs, inventory, scheduling, budgets, sales, and profitability.
- Strong organization, time management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to balance people, operational priorities, and business results.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with the ability to provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check as required.
Bonus points if you have:
- High-volume casual dining experience.
- Front of House management experience.
- A Food Safety Certification and other industry-related certifications.
- A thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
