Description

Job Title:  Delivery Driver 

  • Overview: 

    To safely and efficiently transport goods to the customer while providing excellent customer service. 

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Inspect, load and unload items from the delivery truck  

    • Safely deliver goods to customers adhering to all traffic laws, safety procedures and regulations 

    • Ensure items are secure and protected during transit 

    • Follow delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely and efficient delivery 

    • Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries 

    • Maintain the delivery vehicle in good working condition and report any maintenance issues to management 

    • Perform daily pre-trip inspection of the delivery vehicle  

    • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams 

    • Continually work to improve the overall customer experience 

    • Resolve issues that may arise in a timely and professional manner, including customer concerns and customer service issues 

    • Collaborate with other people and departments in the organization to resolve issues and find workable solutions 

    • Communicate any delivery concerns or issues on a timely basis 

    • Understand, implement, maintain and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures 

    • Maintain accurate delivery logs and records and report any accidents or incidents 

    • Other duties as required 

     

     

    Qualifications, Skills and Competencies: 

    • Valid Class 5 full driver’s license 

    • Delivery experience preferred 

    • High school diploma or equivalent an asset 

    • Clean driving record for the past 12 months 

    • Able to lift and carry heavy loads in excess of 50lbs 

    • Customer service oriented  

    • Friendly, courteous and professional 

    • Excellent organizational and communication skills 

    • Sound judgment and strong decision-making and problem-solving skills  

    • Punctual, good work ethic, reliable 

    • Attention to detail and excellent time management skills  

    • Able to work flexible schedule (evenings/weekends)
