Job Description
This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced work environment serving Colbourne Ford service customers. As a front-line technician, you will have an important role servicing customers vehicles in a fast paced environment.
Job Duties
Working with our Service Manager, Team of Service Advisors, Parts Consultants and fellow technicians, the technician will:
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on vehicles such as oil changes, mount and balancing of tires, brakes and replacement of suspension components.
- Provide vehicle repair and maintenance for internal and warranty work.
- Review work orders, reports, and estimates; Plan work to be completed.
- Inspect damages, diagnose necessary repairs, and perform vehicle inspections.
- Plan and perform repairs; Adjust, repair, or replace parts as needed.
- Test automotive systems, adjust repaired systems, and ensure all systems are in line with manufacturers performance standards.
- Take ownership and accountability for delivering excellent customer service; Advise customers on recommended repairs, and work completed.
Employment Conditions
- Competitive salary including benefits
- Salary/wages: 32.84 - 35.87 per hour
- Full-time permanent; 40 - 60 hours per week
- Benefits: Disability; Dental; Pension; Extended medical
- Vacation: 10 days
Requirements and Qualifications
Personal qualifications:
- Able to lift heavier items
- Must be mobile and able to spend extended periods of time lifting and carrying items that would be considered heavy/bulky
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, team collaboration, and attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Education: Trade or technical school; Apprenticeship
- Minimum English CLB 5 required
- Fully certified technician with Ford-specific training
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract
Assets:
- Experience with PBS dealer management system
