Description
Description Responsibilities:
·
Supervise the
day-to-day operations of the Lobster Pound, including all workers in the
Lobster Pound who operate processing and packaging machines.
·
Supervise the
packing of live lobsters as required for customer orders.
·
Oversee employees
to ensure team operates well on shift.
·
Train staff in
job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
·
Open and close
Lobster Pound for that shift.
·
Follow all Occupational
Health and Safety regulations and Employer Policies.
·
Ensure all safety
procedures are following and all employees are aware of safety procedures and
requirements, including first aid, WHMIS, and safe forklift procedures.
·
Ensure safe
operation of all equipment including fork lifts and trucks.
·
Weigh and
accurately document product.
·
Monitor orders
and determine product to be used on that shift, ensuring orders go out in a
timely manner.
·
Record sales of
products / supplies and provide to manager.
·
Maintain the positive
food safety culture set by the Quality Control team within the site.
·
Provide feedback
to employees to motivate them and improve performance.
·
Resolve problems
and recommend measures to improve productivity.
·
Coordinate
activities with other departments, as required.
·
Other related
tasks as assigned.
Education/Skills/Assets:
·
Secondary school
required.
·
Familiar with
customer service and relationship management.
·
Technical proficiency
required to manage all inventory and accounting-related functions.
·
Experience in a seafood
production plant required.
·
Experience
supervising a team in a busy atmosphere required.
·
Ability to supervise
others and provide direction to Lobster Pound workers.
·
Strong
interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills and ability to work in a
team.
·
Excellent
problem-solving skills and the ability to make key decisions.
·
Strong
organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
·
Demonstrates
consistency, qualify, and accuracy in their work.
