Assistant Store Manager
Schwartz Furniture is a locally owned company with

of Cape Breton Island, we make shopping for home furnishings, appliances, and

We are currently looking to fill the role of Assistant
Store Manager in our Port Hastings location.
As Assistant Store Manager, you will help create a strong guest-centric
store culture that generates high performing and engaged employees. You will ensure all sales associates are
equipped with the most current technical product knowledge available to meet
the unique needs of each customer. As a
leader, you understand the importance of communicating the value and features
of our products and brand to our customer and you want all customers to receive
a quality in-store experience every time they shop with us. Through positive customer experiences and
achievement of sales goals you will drive store performance.
Responsibilities:
- Continually work to improve the overall customer experience and foster a guest-centric selling culture
- Build a highly satisfied and loyal customer base through customer engagement, conversation and proper follow-up
- Resolve issues that may arise in a timely and professional manner, including customer requests/concerns and customer service issues
- Collaborate with other people and departments in the organization to resolve issues and find workable solutions
- Meet personal sales goals and assist in achieving store sales targets by maximizing store sales and profitability
- Assist in the implementation of all sales and operational programs
- Understand, implement, maintain and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Assist in the management of store inventory levels and help maintain accuracy of store inventory
- Perform managerial duties as required such as opening and closing the store, accepting stock transfers, supervising staff and assigning duties.
- Maintain the visual standards and overall cleanliness of the store and sales floor
- Assist with the floor set-up and merchandising of the store in accordance with the merchandising plan and ensure all items are properly priced and promoted
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education an asset
- Previous retail supervisory experience an asset
- Two or more years of sales and customer service experience, preferably in the furniture industry
- Strong understanding of retail store operations, including merchandising and customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excels working in a team environment but can also work independently
- Sound judgment and strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Punctual, good work ethic, organized
- Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and computerized point-of-sale systems
- Able to work flexible schedule (evenings/weekends)
