Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design is excited to welcome new volunteer members to our dynamic Board of Directors!

For 53 years, the Centre has proudly served the vibrant Unama'ki-Cape Breton craft sector with a passion for promoting, developing, and supporting excellence in craft and design. Through our educational programs and training initiatives, we've helped countless artisans flourish in both professional and recreational capacities.

Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design is located in Unama'ki, the land of fog, the unceded and traditional territory of the Mi'kmaq. At the Centre we strive to honour and uphold the Treaties of Peace and Friendship made with the Mi'kmaq by celebrating the ongoing tradition of beautiful and creative craftsmanship of the First Peoples of this land.

Board Composition

We Need Your Unique Voice and Vision! We're searching for enthusiastic, community-minded individuals with diverse perspectives and backgrounds to enrich our collaborative leadership team. Your passion for the arts combined with experience in the craft sector, community leadership, or governance could make a meaningful difference in our organization's future!

Your support of our vision and mandate will help us continue building an inspiring creative community across Cape Breton.

Join us in June 2025 for an enriching three-year term where you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of craft and design in our region. Board members will attend a minimum of three engaging meetings per year plus our Annual General Meeting, with optional committee participation available for those wanting deeper involvement.
