Description

La Provence bakery is a small local owned business, that strives for quality products and a good atmosphere.

I am looking for an experienced Bread baker (Boulanger) who can make good French sourdough breads (baguettes/pains au levain). 

We don't have a deck oven (four à sole) right now, just convection ovens. But will once sales are increasing due to breads, as we are selling all sort of croissants at the moment. 

This would be 25-30hrs weekly permanent position

Job responsibilities of this position, but not limited to:

  • Early shifts to have the breads ready for 8am 
  • Make from scratch sourdough breads every morning 
  • Make other viennoiseries 
  • Supervise daily operations to ensure a seamless workflow
  • Lead, mentor and manage future baker(s)
  • Ensure that hygiene is maintained at all times
  • Ensure quality of products meets established standards
  • Keep track of supplies stock level
  • Maintain equipment and facilities to ensure smooth operation
  • May oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods

·         Independent and take initiatives

·         Excellent time management skill, multi-tasking ability and competent in a fast-paced environment

·         Flexible and learning mentality

Education and Experience:

·         Experience in hospitality industry and fast-paced environment

·         French diploma and experience an asset

·         French/English speaker and/or another language an asset
